The First Step course is designed to support your baby’s development throughout their first year of life, and to support you as a parent. This is a unique opportunity to grow alongside your baby, deepen your understanding of their needs, and build meaningful connections — both with your child and with a community of parents experiencing the same journey.
In our weekly sessions, you will learn activities and games that support your baby’s motor, sensory, and cognitive development. Each meeting includes a conversation on a topic relevant to your baby’s current stage, helping you better understand their world and their needs. During free play, I will observe each baby and offer personalized feedback based on their abilities. You’ll also have opportunity to connect with other parents in a warm, open, and fun environment.
Part 1 – Welcome to the World: 1 to 3 months
During this initial stage, our focus is on the newborn’s transition to life outside the womb. We’ll explore ways to promote bonding and emotional security, and introduce soothing techniques using touch, movement, and voice to help your baby feel safe and calm. You’ll get to know different carrying and lying positions and understand the unique benefits of each. We’ll discuss early reflexes, and explore sensory and vestibular integration. Together, we’ll experiment with tummy time and learn how to observe and gently guide your baby’s initial movement patterns. You’ll also discover how to relieve abdominal discomfort and colic by reducing tension and stiffness in your baby’s body.
This is the firse part for babies born between July and September 2025.

First Step is a holistic approach rooted in the Feldenkrais method. It emphasizes the deep connection between sensory-motor learning and emotional development — how a baby’s ability to roll, reach, or sit is closely linked to their sense of confidence, curiosity, and openness to the world. The approach also highlights the vital role of the environment we create for our babies — through touch, tone of voice, responsiveness, and the experiences we offer. These early interactions shape how babies move, learn, see themselves, and relate to others. Our goal is to provide each baby with optimal conditions for development, and to help them build both a strong sense of confidence and a solid motor foundation, that will serve them throughout life.
